The Youth is OUR Future
World Youth Skills Day
World Youth Skills Day is observed on July 15 and serves as a powerful reminder of the immense potential that lies within the younger generation. The Bible reminds us in Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” This scripture not only highlights the capabilities of young people but also encourages them to hone their skills for the benefit of others.
In today’s fast-paced world, change is constant and rapid. It’s crucial for the youth to be well-prepared to navigate these shifts, bolstered by a strong faith that helps them endure challenges. Equipping them through technical or vocational education is essential, allowing them to embrace their God-given talents and ensuring that the next generation possesses the tools they need to thrive. Remember when we train up a child in the way they should go, they will not stray from that foundation as they grow into adulthood (Proverbs 22:6).
As elder Christians, we bear the responsibility of mentoring, encouraging, and creating opportunities for young people. Just as we fulfill the Great Commission, we must also invest our energy in empowering the youth, so they can flourish both now and in the years to come. Regardless of the field—be it technology, trades, the arts, or ministry—every skill has its value.
May this generation rise with confidence, knowing their gifts are blessings from God, intended to bring hope and transformation to the world.
